October 10 Thelonious Monk on Blue Note: To celebrate the 90th anniversary of the birth of this great composer, pianist and band leader, Ron will feature Monk’s earliest studio recordings, made for the Blue Note label between October 1947 and May 1952 with sidemen Art Blakey, Lou Donaldson, Kenny Dorham, Milt Jackson, Al McKibbon, Gene Ramey, Max Roach, Sahib Shihab, Idrees Sulieman, Lucky Thompson and Shadow Wilson.

October 17 Bing Crosby’s Radio Show: When Bing Crosby had his own radio show, one of his favourite guests was Louis Armstrong. We’ll hear Bing and Louis together in 1949, 1950 and 1951.

October 24 United Nations Day: To celebrate United Nations Day, we bring you jazz from around the world.

November 14 IAJRC: Ron attended the annual convention of the International Association of Jazz Record Collectors in Chicago in August, and bought recordings by Sean Bergin, Barney Bigard, Benoit Delbecq, Tommy Flanagan, Tyree Glenn, Francois Houle, Miff Mole, J. R. Monterose, Hot Lips Page, Evan Parker, Ernst Reijseger and Rex Stewart which he’d like to share with you.
