May 4 Listen Before You Buy: Ron Sweetman reviews recent releases by singers Era Chorna, Kathleen Kolman, Adia Ledbetter, Cathrine Legardh, Susie Meissner, Pat Murray, Andre Pabarcuite, Pascalito, Isabel Rose, Ian Shaw, Cinzia Spata, Jane Stuart, Marlene VerPlanck, and Julian Yeo.

May 11 Co-Host Ron Steeds presents jazz and blues recorded on May 11 between 1927 and 1995. You’ll hear Louis Armstrong, Teddy Wilson, Duke Ellington, Dizzy Gillespie, Eddie Bert, Russ Freeman, Charlie Rouse & Blue Mitchell,Jack Montrose & Bob Gordon, Bill Evans, Roland Kirk, Muhal Richard Abrams &Amina Claudine Myers, Gary Thomas, Either/Orchestra and the Herbie Nichols Projectamong others.

May 18 CTI, Moonjune and Songlines: Profiles of three unique record labels. Artists will include Ron Carter, Copernicus, Benoit Delbecq,
Paul Desmond, Robin Holcomb, Milt Jackson, Marbin and Boris Savoldelli.

May 25 Mingus at Birdland: We’ll hear selections from seven broadcasts from Birdland between between October 21, 1961 and October 26, 1962. Sidemen change between broadcasts and include Pepper Adams, Toshiko Akiyoshi, Don Butterfield, Jaki Byard, Booker Ervin, Henry Grimes, Roland Kirk, Jimmy Knepper, Yusef Lateef,Charles McPherson and Dannie Richmond.

June 1 Listen Before You Buy: Recent jazz and blues releases, with an emphasis on pianists.

June 8 Ottawa International Jazz Festival: Ron’s choice of the many artists appearing between June 23 and July 3. Will include Darcy James Argue, Atomic, Chick Corea, James Cotton, Kelly Craig, Chet Doxas, Kurt Elling, Gord Grdina, Mats Gustafsson, Jon Irabagon, Vijay Iyer, Christian McBride, Brad Mehldau, Myra Melford, Lucky Peterson, Nicole Ratte, Joshua Redman, The Thing, Marianne Trudel, Erik Truffaz and Kenny Wheeler.

June 15 Listen Before You Buy: Recent jazz and blues releases, with an emphasis on guitarists and big bands.

June 22 Rex Stewart: The great Ellingtonian trumpeter in non-Ellington recordings.

June 29 Bluesfest: CKCU’s blues guru John Tackaberry introduces the blues artists who will be playing at this year’s Bluesfest [July 5 to July 17]
