May 1 Listen Before You Buy: Ron Sweetman plays recent releases by clarinetists Ab Baars, Alberto Braida, James Danderfer & Todd Marcus, by big bands led by Darcy James Argue, Fred Hess & Rob Parton, and by bassist Paul Rushka, plus a preview of some of the artists coming to Victoriaville for FIMAV between May 16 and May 19.


May 8 Keith Jarrett: Co-Host Rob Bitschofsky surveys the career of fabled pianist Keith Jarrett,
who celebrates his 68th birthday today.


May 15 Sidney Bechet: Join Ron Sweetman in celebrating the 116th anniversary of the great clarinetist and soprano saxophonist's birthday with a program featuring his recordings for the King Jazz label, made between July 1945 and December 1947 with Danny Barker, Wellman Braud, Big Sid Catlett, Baby Dodds, Pops Foster, Kaiser Marshall, Mezz Mezzrow, Hot Lips Page and Sammy Price.


May 22 Aidian Thomas: In his introductory program, new Co-Host Aidian Thomas presents a
survey of his current listening interests, including Josh Abrams, the Gabriel Alegria
Afro-Peruvian Sextet, Orrin Evans and Pat Metheny's Orchestrion recording.


May 29 May 29: Co-Host Ron Steeds plays jazz and blues recordings made over the years on
May 29.

June 5 Ottawa International Jazz Festival: The first of two programs featuring the many
fine artists who will be appearing at the Ottawa International Jazz Festival, between Thursday June 20 and Monday July 1, introduced by Ron Sweetman.

June 19 Ottawa Bluesfest: CKCU's blues guru John Tackaberry introduces his choices among
the many artists appearing at this year's Ottawa Bluesfest between July 4 and July 14.


June 26 Don Byas: Co-Host Jim Reil has prepared a show featuring the great tenor Don Byas in recordings from the 1940s and 1950s, as a leader and with the Count Basie Orchestra.
